Pernambuco, Brazil
São Miguel dos Milagres and a quieter stay in Tamandaré.
Small coastal towns in Brazil got the keys to my heart.

Over the past weeks, I’ve been traveling in Brazil with my boy, and we have been on a journey to escape from the crowds and noise around the beach in big cities. It has been a blast, but we wanted something quiet and peaceful to enjoy some relaxing days by the beach, away from the White Lotus ‘resort’ vibe. 👀
Our first stop was Maceió. We got an apartment a block away from the beach in an area that seemed to check all the boxes, only to discover that the area we stayed in Maceió, Pajuçara, was still quite busy and loud. To top it off, my man and I got sick during the week in Maceió, so we explored very little of Jatiúca - an area that seemed to be quieter, cleaner, and more peaceful.
After that, we rented a car from Foco Aluguel de Carros - which was cheaper than most rentals, fast, and a super straightforward process. From there we headed north of Maceió, with a stop at 📍 São Miguel dos Milagres, which was a dreamy paradise!
We are currently in Tamandaré, a really small and cute city in Pernambuco, peaceful, right by the sea, and super relaxing. Our groceries cost literally a third of what they would in Maceió, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, and any other bigger cities. The place we are staying is right in front of the beach and cost $300 for 7 days, what a steal! 🔥

TL;DR: Stay in small coastal towns in Brazil for an authentic, cost-effective, and super enjoyable experience.
