canceling plans.

Work boundaries, The Life List, and Alphabetical Diaries.

life’s too short to hang out with energy vampires. be selective. it’s like The Bachelor, but with friendships — less drama, more meaningful conversations. and yes, “meaningful” can include sitting in silence, people watching, and debating whether slip dresses are back or just visiting.

so anyway — hi.

last time we “spoke” (meaning: i talked, you read, and neither of us blinked), i was juggling multiple projects. work. grind. chase the bag. you know, productive stuff that looks very cool in a linkedin update but feels less cool when your eye starts twitching for no reason.

now? i’m trying something different. mindfulness. collecting aesthetics. travel. work (but the kind with boundaries, imagine that). i basically went from business goblin to “calm girl era” overnight. sort of like a glow up, if your definition of glowing includes canceling meetings and drinking tea while doing absolutely nothing productive on purpose.

random fun things that changed my week

On Netflix: The Life List

which girl doesn’t love a good list? groceries. travel destinations. people to text back (eventually!). nail polish colors you swore you’d try but you always go back to OPI’s “bubble bath”. we’ve all been there.

this romcom movie delivers chaos, dreams, and mild panic about your own life direction and letting your dreams control it instead of going with a comfort flow just because it… kinda makes sense! 10/10 would spiral again.

On Spotify: Alphabetical Diaries, Sheila Heti

honestly, listening feels like accidentally reading someone else’s journal and then being like… wait. is this about me? also, yes to alphabetizing your inner monologue. we love a neurotic “alphabetical” structure.

so you’ll read ten “i hate…”s in a row, followed by thirteen “i wonder…”s, then a stream of “sometimes i feel like…”s until you start feeling like maybe you wrote them?? it’s like google searching your own subconscious, but someone else is holding the keyboard (and narrating, if you took the Spotify-route like I did!).

this has been “life, interrupted: season 1, episode 47.” tune in next week for more existential confusion and possibly a new nail polish color.
